She met Jim D’Addario in 1966, and the pair would go on to perform together, and co-found D’Addario in 1973. She initially designed the company’s advertising and packaging design, before going on to become head of artist relations and co-found the D’Addario Foundation, which to this day provides music education to children who may not otherwise receive it.
