An all-star cast comprising Willie Nelson, his sons Micah and Lukas Nelson, Dhani Harrison, Jakob Dylan and Amos Lee have covered Tom Petty’sFor Realas a tribute to the late musician, who died in 2017.
The collaboration is titledFor Real – For Tomand it aims to benefit the Midnight Mission, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit that provides support for the homeless. Petty was a firm supporter of the century-old organisation – his pre-Heartbreakers band Mudcrutch played a pair of benefit shows in Northridge back in May 2016.
Petty recordedFor Realwith the Heartbreakers in 2000 but the track was only released with his greatest hits compilationThe Best Of Everything, which came out earlier this year in March.
